Pet Boarding

Heading out of town? You shouldn’t have to worry about your pet while you’re away. At Family Animal Hospital, pet boarding in Friendswood, TX comes with something not every boarding facility can offer: a veterinary team right on-site. That means your dog, cat — or even your exotic companion — spends their stay under the watchful, caring eyes of people trained to keep them healthy and comfortable.

Medical Pet Boarding for Dogs, Cats, and Exotics in Friendswood, TX

Because we’re a full-service animal hospital, boarding here is a little different — and, we’d argue, a lot more reassuring. Our team can spot the small stuff before it becomes a big deal, administer medications, and respond quickly if your pet needs care during their stay. We happily board cats, dogs, and exotic pets, so even the family members that other kennels might turn away have a comfortable place to stay with us.

Overnight and Day Boarding

Whether you need a safe spot for one night or a full vacation’s worth, we offer both overnight boarding and day boarding. Day boarding is a great option for pets who could use a little structure — we can even help with skills like socialization and housebreaking while they’re here. Want to add some extra activity to your pet’s day? We offer 15-minute walks or play sessions for $25 each, so your best friend gets a little movement and one-on-one attention.

What to Know Before You Board

To keep every boarding guest safe and healthy, we ask that you plan ahead for a few things:

  • A current exam: Every boarding pet needs an exam from our clinic within the past year. Don’t have one? We’ll take care of it when your pet arrives, so we know they’re healthy enough to board.
  • Up-to-date vaccinations and tests, required before your pet’s stay — Dogs: Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, CIV (flu), and Fecal. Cats: Rabies and FVRCP. Exotics: Requirements vary by species — just give us a call.
  • Boarding paperwork: For your pet’s safety, we complete boarding forms every stay (about 10–15 minutes with a technician). Fill them out ahead of time, and you’ll get $20 off.
  • Medications: If your pet needs medication or treatment during their stay, a small additional charge applies.
  • What to pack: Please bring only specialty food and any medications your pet needs. Leave bedding, bowls, and toys at home, as personal items can get lost or damaged.

Ready to reserve your pet’s spot? Give us a call or fill out our online boarding form to get started — and enjoy your time away knowing your best friend is in good hands.
